Nigerian Dwarf Goats

Nigeiran dwarf Doe

Nigerian Dwarf Goats are a Miniature Dairy Breed, they have exceptional sweet, clean tasting milk.  They can provide one quart of milk plus per day, mine typically milk 2 quarts per day as first fresheners.  NDG are the only breed of goat I have. We do milk our goats and make cheese.  I love goats and really love mine,  NDG are total entertainment you can just take a chair and a cup of coffee and go sit and watch them especially if you have kids around.  My herd contains 2 bucks 1-mature & 1 young buck.   About 6 senior does, and 3 Jr does, and two retained doe kids.  Our herd is closed and we test for CAE & Brucel. I dam raise as bottle feeding is way too much work for me and I prefer moms raise their own kids they are more prepared and do a better job  than I could ever do.

NDG’s are the only goat breed I have,  we traveled a few states to pick out does to start our herd.  I think NDG are the perfect milk goat for a family, they are small, hardy, year round breeders, do well in any climate of course with shelter, and need less food.  Two does can keep a family in milk all year, and trust me 1-2 quarts of milk per day is really a lot. I give extra milk to our LGD, and the laying chickens who go crazy for it.  If you want a NDG and a dairy goat the buy from a NDG dairy breeder, many NDG are bred by backyard breeders who do not milk, nor know much about dairy they are breeding pets and color. Which is fine but don’t expect a good dairy goat from them.   Please check out my Web page at www.cimarronvalleyranch.com for more goat details.
